Olive Day

For the past few Sundays, we've had the opportunity to watch this Little Sweet while her mom and dad work. While we'd been on vacation the past two weeks, the kids were excited to have their playmate back once again. This past Sunday, we took advantage of having gone to Mass the night before and took off to the park. Mike took the two oldest a little earlier while I waited for the babes to awake from naps and made a picnic lunch.

(Abigail had just dribbled Naked berry juice all over her face.)

(Shortly after this was taken, the apple chunks which Iris had stuffed her cheeks with- unbeknownst to me- came spilling out onto my arm.)

The two of them traipsed all over the playground, Iris always in Olive's hot pursuit.

The big kids enjoyed some open space to ride their bikes.

Having their cousin so close has been a real blessing. I'm so glad they get to grow up (at least for he time being) seeing each other more than just once in a while on special occasions. I think it's been especially good for Iris to have a peer and a "partner," as she's often the one left out of the play-scene. They're all funny together, whatever they're doing, whether carting someone around in the stroller or bopping up and down to some tunes.

And though I haven't told them yet because they have no real sense of time, they'll be psyched when they find out Rob, Zoe and Olive will be coming on Friday morning to hang out with them while I join Mike at a doctor's appointment (maybe I can finally have a better understanding of his diabetic condition). Props to family swapping!
