Spring is upon us, as Jack reminds us nearly every day the sun's rays spill into our vision-- "Is it the first day of spring?! His rad interest is due mostly to his shared birthday with the Spring equinox. I couldn't be more ready to lose the layers and let the kids wild with some sidewalk chalk. This afternoon, on our way home from dropping off a meal across town after praying at Planned Parenthood, I made a spontaneous decision, spurred by the sun, to take a downtown exit in hopes of finding parking close enough to The Point to let the kids release some pent up energy. We found a prime spot, ran across the big field, and walked along the river for a bit before finding some sidewalk space to tag (I'd had some chalk in the diaper bag for such an occasion). All three of the kids were in such good spirits, a needed win for me considering the exasperating few days I've had with one child in particular... I'm hopeful that more glimpses of the cheery, sweetie, fun-spunky girl that I know she is are emerging... the smiles returning to her face.

Here comes the sun, and I say it's alright.

OK, if you promise it will turn bad attitudes to smiles, I'm headed there on Thursday ;)I hope Jack is right about Spring. I'm still waiting for the snow.
