Annual Homeschool kick-off picnic

Abby and Iris helped paint faces.
She and her buddy Clementine had matching unicorn balloons!
We had our annual homeschool kick-off picnic last weekend. It rained all morning and for almost the whole first hour of the picnic, but despite that, we had our largest turnout ever! All eight of our kids happened to be there. We had a bouncy-house (made even more fun by the wetness?), a guy making balloon creations, face painting, a table for moms to make their own journals, yummy food, outdoor games of all sorts... What a blessing it is to be a part of this wonderful community!

Brochachos take the Trans-Wisconsin Adventure Trail

While Jack is home on his month-long summer break between first and second years at JPCatholic, he and his fellow Brochachos planned a four-day camping trip up the Trans-Wisconsin Adventure Trail to Lake Superior. It runs all the way from the southern border of Wisconsin up to Lake Superior, by the Apostle Islands. They joined the trail somewhere in the The Chequamegon–Nicolet National Forest, which doesn't tell us much, as that covers more than 1.5 million acres of Wisconsin's Northwoods.
Good thing they discovered this stowaway before departing! (I kind of wish they hadn't)
They transferred to Thomas's truck for the trek.
Their future album cover... Album of what? I don't know.

Some of the roads on this "trail" are quite adventurous, as you will see...
Wisconsin.
Made it!
Doofus
He really can sleep anywhere. Lol.
Yummmmmm.
Deep in thought, even when sleeping.

He said it was an awesome trip. So grateful for these close friends.
