Our final day at Apple Valley Lake in Howard, OH- we packed in so much. These cousins usually get to see each other only once per year, which is a shame because they have so much fun together.
One last night-time "lilypad fight"
What should have taken 8.5 hours with no stops to get home took us 13.5 hours due to traffic and a 3+ hour stop in Chicago to get a new car(!)- an eight-passenger Toyota Highlander. With all of these drivers, another vehicle was in our near future anyway, I was fed up with feeding small children through the front of my Sienna (the only doors that still work), and this has AWD for our terrible winters! (And heated seats and steering wheel. Eek!!)
Despite being a trip (and not a vacation), with overtired, cranky kids (including one terribly disobedient), we had a wonderful time, and I am so grateful for this opportunity to travel and spend time with my family. We only wish Tay and Shannon (and Roma!) could have been there, too.
