Mimi & PopPop's visit {part 3}

Mimi and PopPop's last day here- yesterday- was another full day of fun. The morning, we spent around the house and yard, just playing and enjoying Mimi and PopPop's company. And I actually got to do some grocery shopping unaided by little people pulling the cart this way and that- a most relaxing outing. After lunch outside and a shorter quiet time, Mimi and PopPop took the older three to the New Glarus pool and then park once the pool closed- and for ice cream! (I wasn't there, so the few pictures from the outing are from Mimi or PopPop). We had a tasty grilled dinner, finished the rest of Lego Movie and said some tearful goodbyes to our short-time guests, who slipped out this morning while the rest of us were still a-snooze.

Here are a few more pictures from my dad's camera: We sure will miss you, Mimi and PopPop, but we're so glad you snatched the window of opportunity to come and visit us in our new Wisconsin home, despite the distance (though they made in it record time, from Maryland to here in just under 12 hours, stopping only ONCE for a quick bathroom break and gas fill-up!)

Mimi & PopPop's visit {part 2}

icture overload! Yesterday, we drove into Madison to enjoy the breathtaking sights on a gorgeous day. We walked around, exploring Monona Terrace, the Capital Square (where we had a yummy lunch at Tipsy Cow), and then the waterfront park and beach area on Lake Mendota- perfect. Two members in each vehicle fell asleep on the way home. We spent the afternoon playing games and outdoors before the rain rolled in. And watched part of Lego Movie post dinner. Another day full of wonder and joy and so many blessings. God is good.

Mimi & PopPop's visit {part 1}

Last Friday during afternoon, I got a call from my mom, asking what our plans were for this week. As it turned it, other circumstances that were holding them back had fallen through, and they were able to make the trip out here! Of course, I was thrilled, but we decided to keep their visit a surprise until they got here. And we didn't think they'd get here until after the kids' bedtime on Sunday, but they surprised us again by pulling up at 3:40 in the afternoon! The looks and screams of surprise and glee were priceless. Mimi and PopPop had finally made it to our new home in Wisconsin!

The kids delighted in showing them around our house and property, picking berries, flying a kite, playing many games, going to the New Glarus Village Park, roasting marshmallows for s'mores... and their time here isn't over yet. So far, we couldn't have asked for better weather- mild days and cool evenings.
