Jolly 'ol St. Nicholas

One more thing before I sign off for the week. I like to document all of the things I make here. This guy was gifted to a friend, but I listed St. Nicholas in the shop, nonetheless.

New shop listing ~ Mary Our Queen

I had wanted to make Saints Benedict and Scholastica, the Holy Twins, for St. Benedict's feast day yesterday, but then this past week happened (two emergency hospital visits, sickness, the works). I did, however, get this request from my first unknown customer. And so that made me feel pretty good. Like maybe it's not just that my friends are humbling me in this new endeavor that I've gotten any business at all.

I'd love to make you one like her (or something different)! https://www.etsy.com/listing/196147839/35-mary-our-queen-baby-jesus-catholic

New shop listings

I'd say I had a pretty successful first day of the shop being open! Besides two orders, I completed another doll just to list, which may be my favorite yet- Our Lady of Guadalupe. I'd like to keep her, but it wouldn't be great for business if I did that with all of the dolls I decide to make on a whim. I'm trying to stock up on some inventory that I hope will be popular, but please, people, give me some more ideas! I'm loving giving my hands something to do when I want to just relax and watch something after the kids go to bed- or during quiet time- and while I like to knit, this is getting back to my artistic roots a bit more. The dolls- they don't have to be saints. They could be characters from your child's favorite movie or book. Or generic sorts, like royalty figures (which I've done), or fairy tale folks.

Come check out the shop, and request your custom peg peeps!-- https://www.etsy.com/shop/lifepursuitstudio

Etsy shop open for business!

I've mentioned it as a possibility for years, have been working on it for months, and today, I finally hit the "Open Shop" button for my Etsy shop. I feel like there should have been a kazoo sound, or confetti, or something. I may add more variety to it at some point, but for now, it's saint peg dolls, as that's the interest I've heard voiced by friends. And Mike is currently in Cali, so it's not quite as I'd like it, appearance-wise (he helps me with all the frippery). But I did it, y'all! I'm ready to take your orders for made-to-order saint (or other) dolls!
