Easter fun

I went a little overboard with my 25% off coupon code to The Catholic Company a couple of months back. Oh well. How appropriate that today was the prettiest day we've had all year! It might have even been a bit too warm for comfort for some, but it was beautiful out there. Sunny. 74 degrees. A perfect breeze with windows open. Things blooming. Gorgeous. After the kids had their fill of checking out everyone's baskets and looking through some of their new books, they got to work at the table with some new art supplies. We had a big breakfast of cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, fruit, bacon and then relaxed some before getting ready for church. It was a lovely service.

We had an Easter egg hunt in the yard after we got home, and the kids continued their own hunts and games outside while Mike and I (and Opal) had afternoon quiet time/naps. Jack is an absolute swinging fiend now that he's learned how to pump on his own. Sweet boy.

Our traditional brown sugar and pineapple glazed spiny sea urchin (ham) is in the oven, which we'll enjoy with roasted sweet and red potatoes, strawberry spinach salad and yeast rolls. Sooogood. Then we'll have family game night since we skipped it yesterday (most likely Children's Bible Trivia), and Mike is off the next two days! We are looking forward to celebrating the risen Lord these next few weeks. We are so blessed.

Happy Easter, everyone!
