The 2020-2021 school year was one for the books, but we completed 180 days, and Wednesday was our last official day. Most in-person schools don't do much in the way of instruction the last day of school, we didn't either (though we did learn a lot!). Admission to the outdoor gardens at Olbrich is free every day, but on Wednesdays the tropical Bolz Conservatory is also free, so we were able to see that as well. Before noon, when we visited, the heat of the day hadn't yet kicked in, and we couldn't have asked for a lovelier morning.

Now it is on to a more relaxed summer schedule, and we are all so ready for it. I've made summer Bingo sheets for the kids (they complete a row of things like 30 minutes of reading, educational programs like Khan Academy or Monster Math, Baking, etc. and get to have screen time). It's worked well for us for years. Mike is also off almost the entire month of June (using up the last of his outstanding paternity leave), and we have some fun family vacations planned, beginning with Door County next week! Wheeeee!
