Yarn Along- elf hat

Here's a playful little elf hat from More Last-Minute Knitted Gifts.- this has got to be one of the simplest things to knit. It would have looked even more whimsical with the thick and thin yarn called for in the pattern, but I'm trying to use up some of the yarn that's been sitting in my stash and can't exactly justify buying more.

We have a semi-sick ward here this morning and have just been sitting around in our jammies reading books and playing with the doh.

The kids are excited about getting their own elf hats-- two more to go. Here are some pictures of the smallest elfling.
