Five on Friday

1. I took the kids to First Friday Mass at St. Gabe's today to meet up with two other mothers and their kids I met through the Pittsburgh Catholic Mom's Meetup Group online. And I may just attempt it again at Ressurection (taking the kids to Mass without Mike). We only had one incident-- Jack laid down in the pew, and his feet knocked Abigail's empty carseat off the end of the row-- but they were mostly still and quiet the rest of the time.

2. A bunch of the seeds we planted are growing nicely in the windowsill-- mostly tomatoes. I'm looking forward to some homegrown vegetables this year.

3. We finally got a new (slightly used, but like-new condition) couch plus matching chair for our living room (another great CL find). We had a gross one that we got for free when we were first married that we've hidden with a slipcover. Unfortunately, the couch wouldn't fit in our front door, until we unscrewed all of the feet, took off our storm door and tipped it at the one angle out of 360 that actually fit (after a half-hour of trying the others). I was about ready to relist the monster (just look at it beside that scrawny thing). But it, and the chair, and our old couch, are all now chillaxing in our living room. Until we have the energy and time to move the old one, there's a nice furniture maze for Jack to play in.

4. Jack is funny. I will spare you here, but one thing I can remember from this morning-- He was loading some of his Fisher Price food into the back of a dump truck, and he saw Abigail approaching quickly (she's a speed little thing). Panicky, he looked around and found a soft block. "Here Abigail. You pay dis." Selling it before handing it over, he stroked the block and said in a really high-pitched voice, "Niiiiice and soooft."

5. Lost-- do you watch it? I was lost too, until I watched it from the beginning. And then they introduced time travel. This season is full of too many questions. I go into depression at the end of every episode.

Seems everyone I know is Blogging about Lost lately. You're welcome btw.

Also, it appears Jack has taken some lessons from scrubs. "This is medicated denture gum, so you have to sell it with your eyes. Sell it."

I love that you used the term "chillaxing". Oh, and that you are all feeling better.

Mali now wants to name the baby Sam Kellie Ward.
